2013 Acura ZDX Versus Infiniti FX37

If you’re on the market for a great SUV and are trying to decide between the 2013 Acura ZDX and the 2013 Infinity FX37, here’s a quick comparison of these two vehicles.

Exterior Features Compared

The 2013 Acura ZDX is certainly unique in terms of exterior design, with a hybrid appearance. It rides slightly higher than a standard AWD, and it’s sloped design is more akin to a sports car than an SUV, albeit a very large sports car. The combination of the gentle slopes and curves with the sharp-edge detailing gives the Acura a fresh, clean look.

The 2013 Infinity FX37 looks like a classic SUV, except a little clunkier. The Infinity doesn’t seem to be able to pull off the curved design without looking oddly out of place, especially if you look at its profile, which seems to be off-balance.

Interior Features Compared

The Infinity might use premium materials and its designers certainly took their time with the front area of the vehicle, but it falls short when it comes to the rear-passenger and cargo area. This is mainly due to the slope of the roof, which not only limits cargo space but makes it quite uncomfortable to ride in the rear of this vehicle.

While the Acura also features a sloping roof that could cause a similar problem, it seems designers took more care with its interior, ensuring that rear passengers are comfortable. The cabin is premium quality, featuring soft, excellent materials, and really evokes the luxury feel of the car.

Safety Features Compared

In terms of safety features, both vehicles include the basics, such as front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, rear center 3 point seatbelts, ABS brakes and an immobilizer. Other safety features include parking assist, height adjustable safety belts in the front, and a panic alarm.

However, the Infinity features fully automatic exterior light control, whereas the Acura’s is programmable, giving you more control over your vehicle. The Acura also features a lane departure warning system that comes as a standard, while the Infinity’s is only available upon request.

The 2013 Acura ZDX is a vehicle that combines the best of two worlds, offering all the benefits of an SUV with the looks of a sports car. The 2013 Infinity FX37, by comparison, seems clumsy and outdated.

Other safety related features include lane departure warning, forward collision avoidance warning, reversing camera, and automatic lights. These are standard on the Acura and optional extras on the BMW.

The BMW is fitted as standard with run-flat tires, which is fine for cities but not so reassuring if the car is taken off pavement or to the more remote parts of the country. The Acura is better as it is is fitted with a spare wheel.
