What’s in the RDX reputation?

It boast many standard bragging points, including sunroof and heated front seats. There are also standard 18″ wheels, ignition and entry, power front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and rearview camera. Standard technology includes a seven-speaker AM/FM/CD/iPod player with satellite radio, Pandora, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Safety standards include anti-lock brakes with stability and traction controls. There quality Acura standards in front side airbags, side curtain airbags, and active head restraints. And, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) graded the RDX with its highest grade of “Good’ for frontal-offset and side and roof strength tests.

The RDX interior competes with every vehicle in its class – the BMW X13, Audi’s Q5, and the Volvo XC60. The cabin seats are luxurious with heated front seats with power memory adjustments and lumbar support. With the back seats folded forward, the 26.1 cubic foot cargo area expands to 61.3.

The dual-cockpit aeronautical design has elegantly simple shapes and high-quality materials. Steering-wheel paddles control voice recognition audio, cruise control, and phone. Separate dashboard areas are defined by button shapes that manage audio, dual-climate control, and navigation systems.

The easy-to-operate standard RDX audio system offers clear, dynamic sound with seven speakers around the cabin, including an 8-inch subwoofer. A large display at the top of the instrument panel provides detailed audio information.

The standard RDX sound system is an AM/FM/CD/MP3 player with USB jack, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and Pandora® application from a paired smart phone. The optional Acura/ELS Surround® Premium 10-speaker system with a 15GB memory storage, Gracenote® database, and Dolby® Pro Logic® II.

Maintenance Schedule

The Acura RDX operator’s manual recommends service every 5,000 miles. In a typical service call, your Acura Service Center will check, adjust, or replace: oil and filter, all fluids, suspension and steering linkage, clutch and transmission operation, radiator and hoses, steering, shocks, and more.

At 15,000 and every 15,000 miles thereafter, they will add inspections including: tire rotation, exhaust system, drive belts, wheel ends, parking brake system, drive-shaft and U-joint, and ball joints. They do not replace spark plugs, PCV valve, and coolant until the 100,000-mile check-up
