With school over for the summer, parents have many options to keep their children busy with fun, educational summer camps in the Central Bucks County area. Whether your child likes sports, art, or science, there’s a summer camp for them!
Summer camp locations for Lavner Camps are all over the Northeast region, offering programs in everything from computer programming to fashion design to soccer. Your child can choose from sports, technology, creative arts, and educational camps, so their time will never be boring.
The Bucks County camp operates from Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, PA. Weeklong programs run through August, with options for half- or full-day sessions. You can even sign up your child to do one program in the morning and one in the afternoon.
Located on Landisville Road on 55-acres in Doylestown, PA, Camp Curiosity won the Best of Bucks County award in 2015. Summer camp programs run through August 28 with activities for age groups from infants to teenagers.
Babies from 3 months to children aged 4 years old will enjoy outdoor play and running through sprinklers on hotter days. Toddlers will learn socialization skills through music, language arts, nature walks, sign language, and other educational fun.
For the older kids, there’s swimming, woodworking, photography, various sports, experimenting with science, fine arts, leather crafting, and equestrian activities. Online registration is available.
Briarwood Day Camp
Active children love Briarwood Day Camp, where the counselors’ goal is to send your children home tired from all of the adventures throughout the day. BMX biking, gymnastics, rope and wall climbing, ceramics, drama, and archery are just some of the experiences available at this camp situated on 30-acres in Furlong, PA.
Briarwood offers transportation and lunch for campers ages 3 to 16 from the area. High school students can sign up for the Counselors in Training program and learn to be leaders as they assist counselors with younger children. There are optional scheduled evening programs, overnight weekends, and cookouts as well.
Amerikick Martial Arts Camp
Your child will learn discipline, character development, and self-defense at Amerikick in Langhorne, PA. Located at 2038 East Old Lincoln Highway, these 10 one-week sessions are available in full- or half-day sessions for children ages 5 and up. Lunch is provided for full-day sessions as well as snacks throughout the day.
Beyond the martial arts training, fun activities such as hockey, obstacle courses, Nerf wars, and gladiator wars will round out the days. Sign up now for one week and receive 20% off each additional week.
Camp Newtown Athletic Club (NAC), located in a 30,000-square-foot facility at 120 Pheasant Run in Newtown, PA, has a deluxe pool complete with waterslides and a splash pad. Swimming is available every day for most programs, depending on age group. Swimming lessons are also available for those who are still learning. The Camp is open to children from ages 3 to 15.
Specialty camps have a variety of programs changing from week to week, from robotics to hip-hop dance to junior chef challenges. Variety Camps allow children to try many activities in one day and include field trips such as strawberry picking, bowling, and state park hikes. The Sports Camps include soccer, baseball or softball, lacrosse, basketball, and cheerleading.
