25th Annual Cheltenham Community Harvest Festival
The Cheltenham community is a tightknit group of families who spend their lives working hard. The Community Harvest Festival is the perfect opportunity to get together with your neighbors and let loose.
The 25th Annual Cheltenham Community Harvest Festival will take place this year on Saturday, October 17, with a rain date set for the 18. The festival will include music and entertainment, hayrides with both fun and spooky surprises, arcade-style games, a treasure dive, a community car show, delicious food, and pumpkin decorating. Admission to this community festival is free.
Vendemmia Foundation Wine Festival
One of the best ways to celebrate the coming of fall is with a cultural heritage celebration. The Vendemmia Foundation works to foster pride in and preserve Italian culture in South Philadelphia, and their annual Vendemmia Festival is an opportunity to do just that. The event will take place Sunday, October 4 from 2 until 6 pm at Girard Park. The festival is above a wine competition and celebration. Tickets to the event are $50 each per person if you purchase in advance or $55 if you purchase the day of the event.
Apple Festival at Peddler’s Village
The 2015 Apple Festival at Peddler’s Village will take place November 7 and 8. On Saturday, the festival will begin at 10 am and end at 6 pm, and on Sunday, it will begin at 10 am and end at 5 pm. This festival will feature amazing apple treats, including apple cider and apple fritters. There will also be live entertainment and an apple pie eating contest. Admission and parking to the festival are both free.
Pumpkin Playground at Longwood Gardens
Beginning on September 25, your family can check out the Children’s Corner to get an up-close view of the pumpkins at Longwood Gardens. Take a close look, touch and feel the pumpkins, and get some great festive fall photos and then check out the largest pumpkin at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. It weighs over 800 pounds and is in their vegetable garden. The pumpkin playground is free with admission to the gardens.
If you’re a chrysanthemum lover, this is the festival for you! The festival will feature over 16,000 chrysanthemums that have been lovingly nurtured and trained by the horticulture experts at Longwood Gardens. The festival will take place October 24 through November 22 and is free with admission to the gardens.
Pumpkin Days Celebration
The Pumpkin Days Celebration event will take place October 17 and 18 from 10 am until 5 pm at Tyler Arboretum in Media, PA. This family-friendly fundraising event is an excellent opportunity to celebrate fall with the whole community. The event will feature excellent entertainment, pumpkin picking, a moon bounce, crafts, games, and an obstacle course. Admission to the festival for non-members is $11 for adults, $7 for kids aged 3 to 15, and free for kids under 3 years old.
