Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K
The race to cure breast cancer will be held this year on Mother’s Day. This event takes place at Eakins Oval/Philadelphia Museum of Art downtown beginning at 6:30 am. The event includes a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run. This is the 25th celebration year, so this event will likely be huge! You should be prepare for a day packed full of survivors, the people who love them, and all of those who wish to finally find a cure for breast cancer.
Art Star Craft Bazaar
This event will take place Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10 from 11 am until 6 pm at 101 South Columbus Boulevard. This is the 12th annual event, so it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
If you plan to attend, this event is rain or shine and will definitely be popular. Come and enjoy free raffles, ring toss, bean bag toss, photos with handmade wooden signs, and shop around with your local craft vendors. Mother’s Day Tea Party at the Betsy Ross House
This event takes place on Saturday, May 9 from 4 pm until 5:30 pm at the Betsy Ross House in Old City. Enjoy delicious treats and sumptuous teas as your hostess, Betsy Ross, gives you a memorable Mother’s Day celebration. The cost of this event is $25 per person and tickets can be purchased online.
Pennsylvania Guild Fine Craft Fair at Rittenhouse Square
This annual event takes place Mother’s Day weekend from Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10. This event was named a top 100 Fine Craft Fair in the country by ArtFair Sourcebook, a “respected publication in the craft industry known for its artist-submitted show reviews,” according to the PACrafts website.
This event is done in partnership with the Friends of Rittenhouse Square and Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and features 150 local craftsman from across the United States and Canada. The rain or shine event takes place from 11 am until 7 pm Friday and Saturday and from 11 am until 5 pm on Sunday. Check out the website for more details.
