Philly Rabbit Run at the Philadelphia Zoo

The 2015 Philly Rabbit Run 5K for Parkinson’s disease will be held this year on Saturday, April 4 at the Philadelphia Zoo. As a participant, you’ll be able to enjoy both the outside and inside of the Philadelphia Zoo before it’s even open to the public.

While the 2015 Rabbit Run is a fund-raiser for Parkinson’s Awareness Month, it’s also a USA Track & Field–certified and chip-timed course, presented by the Chester County Running Store.

Why participate in this race?

  • You get to support a great cause while having lots of fun.
  • It’s a great event for the whole family.
  • You’ll enjoy music from WIRED 96.5, which will be there getting you pumped up with all your favorite tunes.
  • It only costs $40 and includes admission to the zoo when you finish the race.
  • You can walk or run, both of which are great for your health.
  • You could win a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro for being the top fund-raiser.
  • The team captain who recruits the most runners earns a Fitbit.

There are some great benefits to participating in the Philly Rabbit Run 5K—aside from supporting a good cause—including some sweet swag. As one of the first 150 Rabbit runners who registers, you’ll earn a free pair of rabbit ears to wear during the race. Free T-shirts will also be given out while supplies last. So if you’re interested, register for the race as soon as possible.

Race-day registration opens at 7 am at the Zoo Balloon courtyard. Both the 5K and 1-mile runs start at 8 am, and the zoo opens at 9 am, which is when awards will start to be distributed. Not only will you have a great time participating in this event, you’ll also have the chance to meet other local runners and members of your community.

Runners and walkers will be divided into traditional age groups for the race. If you raise $100, you’ll also earn a special prize. You can learn more about the Philly Rabbit Run 5K Facebook page or by visiting the website
